    Description

    Job Title: Financial Accountant

    A leading retail company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

    The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and overseeing the organization's financial health, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records, and providing timely and precise financial reporting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Record Management: Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, regulations, and company policies by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • General Ledger Management: Classify all financial transactions correctly and manage the general ledger effectively.
    • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts promptly and resolve any discrepancies swiftly.
    • Chart of Accounts Maintenance: Maintain and optimize the chart of accounts, recommending improvements as needed.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Closing Procedures: Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely and precise financial reporting.
    • Bank Statement Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
    • Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, offering insights and actionable recommendations to management.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to aid in strategic decision-making and planning.
    • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and department heads, to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Support external audits and ensure regulatory compliance by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

    Requirements:

    • BCom in Finance
    • Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
    • Minimum 1-2 years post articles experience

    Salary: Competitive salary range R400,000 - R600,000 per annum, depending on experience.
