As we continue to grow and expand our presence in the industry, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Finance situated in Cape Town CBD.

The Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial activities and strategies of the company.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD), the Head of Finance will be responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance functions.

Additionally, this role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business performance and ensure financial stability and growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans and budgets aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial insights and analysis.

Financial Reporting and Control:

  • The preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Cash Management and Treasury:

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs and investment decisions.
  • Optimize working capital management and treasury functions, including banking relationships and investment strategies.

Financial Operations:


  • Supervise daytoday financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing.
  • Streamline processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.

Financial Strategy and Decision Support:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decisionmaking across all levels of the organization.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, licensing agreements, and industry standards.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.

Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:8.1 Financial Management

  • Perform full debtors and creditors functions.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, controls, and SOPs.
  • Create and manage the GL and ensure all records are posted accordingly.
  • Monitor expenditure and income versus budgets and conduct analysis and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Create and maintain an accurate asset register.
  • Produce accurate and timely management accounts as required.
  • Prepare AFS and commentary on performance.
8.2 Compliance

  • Compile and submit weekly taxes and reporting to the Gaming Regulator
  • Assist in the completing and submission of annual renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS, CIPC and Regulator
  • Ensure all Financial practices are in line with GAAP/IFRS
  • Maintain an accurate set of financial records for presentation to internal and external auditors as required.
8.3 Payments

  • Manage the payments team.
  • Develop and implement the daily settlements ecosystem to a bestinclass standard.
  • Manage relationships with payments vendors.
  • Keep current with payments technologies and innovations.

Qualifications

  • CA (SA)
  • Proven experience (5 years) in a senior finance role, preferably within the online casino and gaming industry or a related field.
  • Indepth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations, particularly in a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
