PURPOSE STATEMENT
To run all aspects of the technical and technical operations function within IT. This includes planning, technology strategy and troubleshooting of all servers.

Work extended hours as necessary to maintain existing or implement new technology with mínimal customer impact.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Responsibilities (40%)

  • All daily tasks pertaining to Server Systems support
  • Responsible for all Server and PC equipment patching and updating.
  • Responsible for managing and creating all change controls in the IT department
  • Responsible for and administration of all Server documentation and policies
  • Responsible for maintain good relationships with vendors, affiliates, global teams and suppliers.
  • Responsible for working with global teams to execute companywide projects, changes and zero day vulnerability remediation's
  • Responsible to report any problems to the Head of IT and the Technical IT Manager
  • Ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities

Server Systems (30%)

  • Responsible for all server hardware equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for Active Directory management, design and implementation.
  • Responsible for administration of all site documentation and policies
  • Responsible to Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain required software and hardware components.
  • Research, document, and implement new technology solutions.
  • Maintain scripts used for automation, reporting, monitoring and analysis.
  • DNS Records management (Exchange, Websites, Remote Applications)

Desktop Support (15%)

  • Responding to 1st and 2nd line support calls
  • Technical Troubleshooting
  • Onsite Software installations
  • Replacement of hardware
  • Software repair
  • Investigating and logging queries that cannot be resolved, for further investigation with third parties or global counterparts
  • Liaise with the business in terms of queries and general information

Backups (15%)

  • Analyse, design, and implement backup infrastructure architecture to ensure high levels of data quality and availability.
  • Review daily reports on the status of backup jobs and maintain a backup for each protection group daily.
  • Responsible for all backups and recoveries.
  • Implement necessary patches, hotfixes, service packs, cumulative updates, and upgrades to backup software and server hardware to maintain overall system integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) or
  • Microsoft MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator)
  • 5 years Technical Server support experience in an Active Directory environment
  • Linux Certification is an advantage
  • Network Certification is and advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of Servers hardware and software
