The Strategy & Institutional Oversight Directorate are a team of focused professionals who provide the full range of strategy and institutional oversight services to the organisation.
Strategy and Organisational Performance who meets the below criteria and can contribute successfully to the mission of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament.
What you will be doing:
- Strategic and Operational Planning _
- Responsible to support the head of Strategy in formulating and articulating a clear organizational strategy.
- Responsible to ensure the Strategy is appropriately executed and embedded in the organization.
- Responsible for periodically evaluating strategy implementation.
- Performance Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting_
- Responsible for statutory monitoring and reporting of Quarterly and Annual performance in accordance with the required prescripts.
- Responsible for monitoring of Strategic initiatives and projects and identifying areas for improvement.
- Responsible for liaising with Managers to ensure that team and individual performance is aligned to the organizational strategy and plan.
- Responsible for service delivery improvement planning.
- Policy and Procedure Management_
- Ensure all organisational policies are centrally managed, compliance monitored and reported on in compliance with the organisation's Policy management framework.
- People Management_
- Management of direct reports and people management good practice.
- Ensure all HR policies are adhered to and complied with.
To be considered you need:
- A minimum of a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration)
- A minimum of three to five years' experience in Organisational Strategy, Planning and Monitoring & Evaluation
- Relevant experience in the legislative sector would be an advantage.

- Knowledge of public or development sector Strategy and planning tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of public or development sector Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks
- Knowledge of operational planning and monitoring processes
- Knowledge of risk management in the context of organizational planning
- Knowledge of the legislative sector mandate and functions
- Knowledge of organizational policy management
- Knowledge of service improvement strategies
- Excellent presentation and reportwriting skills
- Strategic capability and analytical skills
- Good Planning and Organizing skills
- Good people and interpersonal skills
