    Description

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    As a valued member of our team, you will assist senior staff in the application of processes during engagements to ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures. You will provide expert advice on identified process improvements.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Participate actively in engagement teams to drive success.
    • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, active listening, and timely responsiveness.
    • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and independence skills.
    • Communicate effectively both internally and externally, utilizing strong written and verbal skills.
    • Evaluate quality and efficiency in engagement processes, implementing measures to improve them.

    Core Responsibilities:

    You will be responsible for executing planned assignments as part of a team during each engagement, including:

    • Annual write-ups of accounting records using our preferred software tool (Xero, SAGE Online).
    • Compilation Engagements according to ISRS 4410.
    • Independent Review Engagements in accordance with ISRE 2400.
    • Accounting officer Engagements under the Close Corporations Act.
    • Proposing journals to clients (via Senior/Manager).
    • Drafting AFS per IFRS and IFRS for SMEs (Basic level).
    • Managing your own WIP and budgets on engagements with senior/staff assistance.
    • Updating seniors and managers on engagement progress.
    • Providing support to other staff members when needed.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    You will also be expected to:

    • Implement and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality process manuals to ensure engagements meet required standards.
    • Provide feedback on areas for improvement.
    • Identify cross-selling opportunities for other services to current clients and report to management.
    • Deliver clear and coherent messages to management regarding quantitative issues and reviews.
    • Attend required training sessions.
    • Recommend areas of training and development to senior staff.

    Requirements:

    • BCom Accounting degree.
    • Completion of SAIPA/SAICA Articles.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Pastel/Caseware software.
    • Analytical skills, particularly in financial and accounting contexts.
    • Financial analysis and reporting expertise.
    • Ability to interpret and compile financial information.
    • Knowledge of financial systems and tax principles.
