Data Privacy Business Partner (Financial Services)

Location:
Pretoria, Gauteng


Position Overview:


A highly reputable and recognised financial services institutions is seeking to employ a skilled
Data Privacy Business Partner, to join their team of specialists.


The main purpose of this position is to
facilitate and ensure the implementation of Privacy Standards for the assigned business clusters and to
provide specialist legal and compliance advise on Data Privacy and Protection Programme Management to business clusters at the firm.


Key Performance Areas:

- _Facilitate the implementation of personal information (PI) measures._
- _Conduct impact assessments on existing processes and new projects._
- _Drive the implementation of remedial actions on existing processes and new projects for the assigned business clusters._
- _Identify privacy training needs and gaps and facilitate relevant training._
- _Conduct and/or oversee audits on existing and new PI processes (including high-risk third parties)._
- _Analyse data and identify patterns for the assigned business clusters._
- _Compile privacy reports for the assigned business clusters to the departmental management committees._
- _Ensure that any PI breaches are logged correctly by the assigned business clusters._
- _Conduct the preliminary investigation in incident handling for any PI breaches._
- _Stay current with PI knowledge and skills in order to maintain professional expertise and relevant accreditation._
- _Establish and maintain stakeholder relations (internal and external)._
- _Keep abreast of industry developments and best practice._
- _Facilitate the implementation of the third-party risk assessment framework._


Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A
    completed Bachelor's degree in Compliance or Law (NQF 7), or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum
    of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in
    Data Privacy and Protection Programme
    Management, Processes, Practices, Technologies, Risk Management, Audit, and Compliance.
  • A minimum of
    5 years of Regulatory Experience in the Banking Industry.

Information Privacy Professional or
Information Privacy Manager certifications preferred.

Deep
knowledge of POPIA.

  • Knowledge and skill in**:Project Management, Legislation, Governance, Risk and Compliance, and Risk Identification and Analysis.
