The Position in Perspective:

Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product and/or service to OE and aftermarket customers alike. Identify, assess and implement cost driven process and product improvements towards enhanced global competitiveness of company products in the local and international markets

Duties Will Include:

Consult with relevant personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates, cost savings and improvement activities
Prepare timeandmotion, cost, material, tooling, packaging, energy and labour

- estimates/studies

Prepare estimates for use in selecting suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, or contractors
Present prepared cost estimates by collating and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
Confer with engineers on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Prepare estimates used by Management for purposes such as planning, organising, and scheduling work
Prepare cost estimate statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals or at management request
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services

- tracking actual costs relative to quotes/bids as the project develops

Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Review material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more costeffective to produce or purchase components
Compilation of Action plans for OEM and aftermarket projects, to be used in discussions with Project Coordinator and Communicator at company, and also with relevant customers
Assist in planning of manufacturing jobs on new products or components and the overseeing thereof
Inherent Requirements

Minimum Requirements of The Incumbent:

Matric/ Grade 12 certificate as a minimum
Qualified tradesman preferable
At least 23 years' experience in a similar role [Lean optimization and Cost savingsVA/VE]
Energy efficiencyand Renewable energyexperience will be beneficial
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Proficient in English and strong numeric acumen
High level negotiation and analytic skills
Team player essential; networking skills of paramount importance
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Proven ability to work under pressure
Multitasking with the ability to prioritize work loads and do proper time management
Must be Self driven and able to work without supervision
Valid code 8 driver's license and own transport
Ability to identify, highlight and pursue avenues of cost savings and cost effective process improvements

What Qualification
