    Job Title: Employee Benefits Specialist

    We are seeking an experienced and skilled Employee Benefits Specialist to join our Group Compensation and Benefits Team in Clicks Shared Services. This role will be based at our Head Office in Cape Town.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Employee Benefit Programs:
      • Manage employee benefit programs relating to retirement funds and medical aids.
    • Cost Efficiency:
      • Review and optimize the cost efficiency of benefits.
    • Governance and Compliance:
      • Ensure governance and legal compliance of different funds.
      • Manage queries and communicate information related to employee benefits funds and insurance.
    • Medical Aid Policy:
      • Review and enhance the company's medical aid policy, manage SLAs with medical aids, and explore opportunities for the benefit of Clicks and its employees regarding medical benefits.
    • Medical Aid Administration:
      • Ensure the efficient administration of medical aid membership, option selection, contributions, and increases, and communication.
    • Team Management:
      • Effectively manage and develop the Benefits team.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification.
    • Experience as a member of a board of trustees or principal officer.
    • 5 years' experience in a similar position.
    • Experience in a retail organization is advantageous.

    Essential Skills:

    • Knowledge of pension fund acts/rules, medical aid rules, and PF 130 and PF circulars.
    • Ability to draft policy documents.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge and application of legislation and administrative requirements relating to death and disability claims.
    • Strategic thinking - impact of changing circumstances on benefits.
    • Ability to build value-based relationships with service providers to optimize cost efficiency.
    • Ability to design member communication that is understandable and informative.
    • Numerical and financial acumen, including the ability to interpret financial statements.
    • Excellent Excel skills and ability to work with extensive spreadsheets.
