    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team in SA Projects.

    This role involves electrical system modelling, protection design, testing, commissioning, and bill of quantities for all projects.

    • You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet South African national standards and other customer requirements.
    • You will also be responsible for compiling Site Acceptance Test plans, commissioning plans, and assisting technical teams with their execution.
    • Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the company's strategic planning and customer base growth.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Engineering, planning, leading, organising, and controlling electrical system modelling, load flows, fault studies, grading studies, and designs.
    • Standardization and good engineering practices application to all electrical studies.
    • Designs, specifications, project supervision, and management of small to medium projects.
    • Responsible for the whole project life cycle, including budgeting, procurement, supervision, testing, and commissioning.
    • Specify, design, program, and commission electrical equipment, including metering, protection, and reticulation equipment.
    • Develop bill of materials/quantities for engineering services, work, and projects, supporting tendering processes.
    • Coordinate individual project resources plans and support engineering and installation services teams.
    • Technical problem solving, fault finding, periodic standby duties, and staying up-to-date with industry developments.

    Requirements

    • B Eng Electrical Heavy Current degree.
    • 3-6 years of experience in a large/heavy Industry environment.
    • Good exposure to industrial environments, electrical reticulation, protection, and machinery.
    • A high level of technical competence and understanding of equipment.
    • Driver's license and passport for regional and international travel.
    • Traceable references and clear criminal record.
