    Description

    Production Supervisor

    The ideal candidate will manage the conversion of product from raw material state into finished goods product in the most efficient cost-effective manner according to internationally benchmarked standards and practices.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Liaising with factory manager regarding customer demand, planning and scheduling production, communicating schedules effectively, ensuring short interval controls, and 100% MPSP and 95% PSA performance.
    • Re-scheduling production based on customer demand changes, unforeseen plant/component breakdown or shortages, monitoring production progress, identifying production problems, and developing actions to improve performance.
    • Ensuring acceptable quality levels, motivating employees to improve quality, reviewing and implementing corrective actions, reducing quality defects by 50%, and developing a positive quality culture.
    • Discussing major planned maintenance requirements, ensuring routine maintenance, stopping equipment use that endangers safety, and ensuring safety representatives complete regular reports.
    • Measuring performance against reports, investigating poor performance, developing action plans to reduce costs and improve control on consumable items, controlling labour costs, and coordinating efforts for ongoing improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage daily operations to meet production targets, maintain inventory, and ensure employee safety.
    • Maintain high-quality products through training, motivating employees, and implementing corrective actions.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities, monitor equipment performance, and implement measures to prevent downtime and accidents.
    • Analyze performance data, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to achieve company goals.

    Requirements

    • Min: Matric qualification
    • Ideal: Diploma in Production Management
    • At least 4 years' experience in a Supervisory position
    • Previous exposure to workplace improvement planning and implementation
    • Excellent motivational and management skills
    • A passion to develop staff to their full potential
