180 Garsfontein Road, Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria. Flexible remote working policy in place.


Job purpose:


This role is responsible for leading the Lexie Application and Web Development in terms of strategy, team development, capacity management and tech/system design and optimization.


Increase division profitability by driving product and resource success by designing efficient and scalable systems and products and ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery thereof.

This Product Owner takes ownership of the development and optimisation of the Lexie app, Lexie website, systems and team.

They keep a handle on product and project aspects including team prioritisation, business models, specifications, budgets and financial models, progress tracking, cross functional leadership alignment, management of resources and team capacity.

This role oversees a multi-disciplinary team.


Team and Role Function:


  • Business Analysis for division (development roadmap, frontend / backend and analytics for the Lexie app).
  • Data Science: Datadriven improvements and optimisation relating to consumer behaviour, feedback, postmarket surveillance, and A/B testing.
  • Customer Experience: Cultivate alignment to, and design dependence on CX, UX and UI bestpractices for the Lexie Mobile App and Website.

Minimum education (essential):

BEng (Industrial) Degree or BSC Information Technology Degree or similar


Minimum education (desirable):

Relevant Information Technology degree or diploma Certified Scrum Master


Minimum applicable experience (years):
10 years minimum, with 5+ years in a management role


Required nature of experience:


  • Operations optimization and datalead strategic development
  • Management of product and system specifications, requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Project Management.
  • An indepth understanding of User Experience design and Consumer products, including customer journey experience design and optimization
  • Recruitment and effective management and optimization of employees.

Skills and Knowledge (essential)**:


  • Technical and functional writing skills (Proposals, pitches, demo content, product specifications etc.).
  • Business process formulation and design.
  • Technical Specification writing.

  • Drive usability and optimization of Lexie App (And associated platform)
  • Drive usability, impact and optimization of Lexie Rewards program
  • Analyse operational and procedural problems, and develop, recommend, and implement proposed solutions.
  • Identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods.
  • Full cycle Project and Product Management including capacity management, stakeholder engagement and resource tracking.
  • Multitask on a suite of projects and functions, all within different stages of development and implementation.
  • ApproveCompile relevant specifications documents (business, functional, technical) before commencement of development.
  • Compile intuitive system and product requirements and specification design, in terms of researching, consulting and analysing needs.
  • Follow best practice design and development methodologies in sustaining high quality, clean, auditable and manageable products and systems.
