    Description

    Purpose of the Job

    To support and ensure that all drivers are properly trained, that they follow the regulations of the road, and that they adhere to the Company's procedures.

    Key duties include:

  • Conduct on-the-road training/coaching and driver assessments to ensure that drivers follow the regulations of the road and adhere to the Company's standards.
  • Directing drivers daily to the correct premises of clients for the deliveries.
  • Ensuring that maps with the right directions to the customer's location are copied for drivers when they report to the office.
  • Tracking of all company vehicles at all times.
  • Ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are serviced within the allowed service intervals.
  • Ensuring staff under your control maintain a high level of service to customers.
  • Ensure maximum utilization of vehicles, planning of loads, routes, fuel, etc.
  • Ensure that accidents and incidents are properly investigated and documents are submitted timeously.
  • Ensure that training documentation, such as attendance registers and feedback reports, are administered effectively and efficiently.
  • Create and maintain monthly reports for the National Logistics Manager.
  • Assist with other duties and departments in accordance with operational requirements.

  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Experience

    Essential

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in Logistics/transportation industry
  • Experience in route planning and the management of collections and deliveries
  • Desirable:

  • Previous experience conducting driver assessments
  • Knowledge and Skills

    Essential:

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills (MS excel; Office 365)
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Trackmatic and Mixtelematics systems
  • Knowledge of POS-i-TILL and PosMed system
