Description

1. Design

Do plant layouts with input from clients, management, costing and BOM in AutoCAD 3D and Solidworks.
Concept and detail design of products and complete plants (Large assemblies)
Manufacturing drawings
Do procurement, receive and check parts as required
Development of standard products in conjunction with the company personnel. This comprise of tested designs, manufacturing drawings, quotations, suppliers, procurement lists and design reviews.
Office management
The design draughtsman will report to the drawing office manager.
The design draughtsman will manage other designers when required
Manage drawings and model configuration
Update drawing registers, storage and backup
Quality
Conduct design reviews with management and clients.
Engineering & workshop support
Assess engineering problems and find solutions.
Process and manufacturing planning and follow up
Checking and control
Check models and drawings for correctness and manufacturability.
Prevent recurring mistakes by compiling a selfcheck list with recorded common mistakes
Ensure the company standards are applied (How/when)
Marketing Assistance
Prepare design quotations based on concept designs.
Draught specific statement of work that accompany the quotation
Standard work procedures
Drawing office project management
List all work on a project schedule and assign realistic timescales.
