3. JOB PURPOSE

  • The Scheduler/Planner is responsible for scheduling engineering maintenance work and the allocation of required resources

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Conduct planned tasks observations and inspections
  • Participate in safety audits
  • Participate in accidents investigations
  • Ensuring good house keeping
  • Maintenance
  • Engage business on discussing and agreeing on maintenance schedule
  • Schedule maintenance in terms of resource allocation in coordination with production unit
  • Ensuring availability of resources allocated as per maintenance schedule
  • Randomly scrutinise job cards for work completed and reordered
  • Followup on maintenance scheduled
  • Liaise with engineering foreman to ensure safe and continuous maintenance
  • Continuous updating of resources for proper work loading/scheduling
  • Collection of daily planned maintenance works orders from SAP Planner
  • Allocation of respective maintenance personnel as per the works orders
  • Compiling training and leave schedules for foreman
  • Reporting
  • Report on out of stock spares and inventory levels

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education

  • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate)
  • Engineering Trade Certificate
  • Code 10 Drivers Licensee

Language

  • Excellent English communication skills is mandatory (verbal and written).

Experience

  • At least 5 years posttrade Engineering experience (preferably in a Renewable Energy Construction Environment)

Specific Knowledge / skills

  • Computer literate (MS Office and SAP PM Module)
  • High performer and safety orientated
  • Working knowledge of relevant laws, company standards and management systems
  • Understanding of Engineering systems and process implementation
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and implement decisions
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar quality management systems
  • Ability to cope with pressure
  • Able to perform operational and systems risk analysis
  • Sound knowledge of engineering methods and technology
  • Understanding of project management and planned maintenance systems
  • Understanding of the business and relevant systems/processes
