Responsibilities and Duties
The HR Consultant provides end-to-end human resources support with a focus on labour
relations, employee relations, and HR compliance. The role involves advising management
and employees, ensuring adherence to labour legislation, and handling CCMA-related
matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR advisory support to management and employees
- Handle employee relations matters including disciplinary hearings and grievances
- Prepare for and represent the organisation at CCMA and Bargaining Council
- proceedings
- Draft disciplinary notices, charge sheets, and outcome letters
- Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA)
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and probation processes
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives
- Promote positive employee relations and workplace compliance
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an HR Generalist or HR Consultant role
- Strong knowledge of labour relations and CCMA processes
- Sound understanding of South African labour legislation
- Experience handling disciplinary hearings and grievances
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
