Prominent Bookkeeper Required for Manufacturing Firm

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our team at a prominent manufacturing concern. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accurate financial records.
• Filing source documents in a secure and organized manner.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Support payroll processing, including statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
• Process supplier invoices and perform creditor reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Prepare monthly VAT return workings, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with external audits and other financial reporting requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• Proficiency in MS Office, with experience in Accsys and Syspro being beneficial.
• A solid understanding of main accounting principles, including accruals and revenue recognition.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold:

• A minimum ICB Certificate in Bookkeeping.
• At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in supporting payroll processing.
• Strong accounting knowledge and qualifications.

We offer a competitive salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
