Description

Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary with relevant Actuarial Science Degree and minimum 5 years' Actuarial modelling and pricing experience in the Short Term Insurance Industry, required to price and manage the risk in respect of new and existing business to ensure profitability and sustainability, for this Short Term Insurer based in Centurion.

Minimum requirements:

B.Actuarial Science Degree essential
Qualified / nearly qualified Actuary preferred
5 years' Actuarial modelling and pricing in the Short Term Insurance Industry required
Advanced pricing and product development experience highly beneficial
SQL, SAS, R, Python, Willis Towers Watson, Earnix and AKURBS experience required
Advanced Excel Essential
Experience with programming and mining large datasets for commercial value required

Responsibilities:

Price and manage the risk iro new and existing business
Maintain develop and implement market leading Short Term Insurance pricing models
Explore and identify data and rating enhancements to inform pricing models
Ownership of model performance against actual experience and acting on model weaknesses
Develop and implement pricing strategies for new and existing business
Support development of new and innovative products
Drive implement and maintain proper governance on pricing developed/deployed
Support/advise business using data and analytics
