Main responsibilities

• Ensure that Rating Based Approach (IRB) is embedded within the region

• Driving capital consciousness in business and credit

• Review accuracy of model inputs and approve risk ratings for deals presented to Regional Credit

• Continual education of business and credit for rating results to be understood and interpreted correctly (PD, LGD, EAD, ROC, RAC)

• In depth understanding of Credit risk

• Pre-credit assessment of IRB and Risk Appetite Classification (RAC) Information

• Assist in reviewing and the approval of ratings for the annual risk rating refresh

• Model Subject Matter Expert (assist in model development and being the expert on a particular model within the IRB community, along with providing detailed analysis as required)

• Assist regionally in unpacking the credit risk management reports and provide high level commentary on key risk trends

• Identifying and driving required outcomes from the reporting packs and other regional asks, relating to IRB and IFRS 9

• In conjunction with Regional Operations and Front Office, decide on and drive remedial action regionally

• Facilitate regional face-to-face IRB Training

• Liaising with national Basel, credit and business stakeholders on IRB to ensure national operational consistency in IRB

• Liaising with national IT and regional/national operations teams on system issues or enhancements required to streamline the business process

Experience, skill and capability

Education | Knowledge

• Minimum BComm. Degree (pref. accounts/finance majors)

• 3 to 5 years credit risk experience
