Job Title: Maintenance Working Foreman

Description:

The Maintenance Working Foreman is responsible for planning and performing maintenance work to ensure plant safety and food safety standards. Key responsibilities include welding, cutting, and fitting repairs or new installations, troubleshooting issues, and resolving them in a timely manner.

This role also involves performing routine scheduled preventative maintenance, documenting work completed, and helping develop long-term preventative maintenance projects and plans. The successful candidate will work closely with the production team to drive efficiency in operations and minimize downtime by performing repairs in a safe, reliable, and expedient manner.

In addition, the Maintenance Working Foreman will be responsible for managing inventory management on critical spare parts, ensuring all assets are properly cared for, and adhering to greasing/oiling schedules and inspection of parts to ensure they meet appropriate specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks in accordance with supplier specifications.
• Manage all mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Adhere to preventative maintenance plans.
• Ensure job card systems are up-to-date and reports are submitted on time and are correct.
• Update maintenance programs with information on what preventative maintenance is required.
• Ensure necessary parts are available and order in a timely manner when needed.
• Consult with Production/Packing Manager to stop production lines for necessary maintenance.
• Inform maintenance personnel with job cards when machines need to be serviced and compile schedules accordingly.
• Ensure good work practices are carried out by operators.
• Ensure work is done to a high quality that re-occurrence will not occur on the same equipment due to poor work quality.
• C coordinate measurement tracking of energy efficiency at the mill.
• Be proactive by improving operational skills levels of operators through in-house and external training.
• Ensure ION Meters are in order and recording energy usage correctly.
• Perform daily checks and record power factor unit readings. Take action to rectify any defects logged.
• Maintain a dust, air, spillage, and water leakage-free plant at all times. Take corrective action as necessary to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and adhere to budgets.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and CIPs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety requirements as per FSSC standards.
• Manage OPRPs effectively.
• Perform after-hours standby and callout duties.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Red Seal Millwright trade test Certificate
• Instrumentation/SCADA Systems/PLC/HMI/High Voltage Switching Experience (optional but preferred)
• Knowledge of plant automation operations
• Minimum 5 years experience gained in a FMCG/Manufacturing environment
• Supervisor course qualification (6-month refresher course) including HR/IR Course How to delegate, communicate, motivate, and discipline
• 3 years managing or supervising a team
• FSSC training (optional but preferred)
• OHS Safety Rep (formal training) up to date (optional but preferred)
• First Aid/Fire Fighting formal training (Certificate) up to date (optional but preferred)
• Forklift Driver's license (optional but preferred)
• Dryer Heater bank system training
• Fault Finding Electrical and Mechanical Schematic

Remuneration:

The remuneration for this role will be determined based on industry standards and experience. The company offers normal benefits typical of a large company.
