We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Junior Restaurant Manager to join our team in Helshoogte, Stellenbosch.

As a Junior Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the overall operation of our restaurant, ensuring a seamless and exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

Service Excellence:


  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the restaurant to ensure a high standard of service.
  • Train, motivate, and supervise waitstaff to maintain a customerfocused and efficient team.
  • Monitor and evaluate service levels to identify areas for improvement.

Guest Relations:


  • Foster positive relationships with guests, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for all patrons.

Wine Knowledge:


  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the wine estate's offerings, including varietals, vintages, and pairings.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on wine knowledge and service.

Staff Training and Development:

  • Assist in the training and development of waitstaff, focusing on service standards, product knowledge, and customer interaction.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Inventory Management:


  • Collaborate with the senior management team to manage and control restaurant inventory, including wines and supplies.
  • Assist in conducting regular inventory audits.

Operational Support:


  • Support the execution of special events, promotions, and wine tastings.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages.

Compliance:


  • Ensure that the restaurant operates in compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce standard operating procedures.

Financial Management:


  • Assist in monitoring and managing budgetary targets, controlling costs where necessary.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through effective upselling and promotion strategies.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Passion for exceptional customer service and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge of fine wines and the ability to convey that knowledge to both staff and guests.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Understanding of restaurant management software and pointofsale systems.
  • A diploma or degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
