    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop program specifications and implement system enhancements based on specific business needs.
    • Code, compile, test, and implement applications in compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
    • Maintain coding standards and participate in peer reviews.
    • Comply with IT development and governance requirements, meeting legislative and audit demands during programming execution.
    • Assess and mitigate potential risks within the IT programming environment.
    • Design, code, test, and debug to obtain a robust solution with supporting documentation.
    • Minimize system downtime through proactive identification of potential issues and manage defects for recurring problems.
    • Monitor systems post-change and perform performance analysis to ensure system stability.
    • Manage own development to increase competencies and develop technical and business skills.
    • Engage with business units and colleagues to understand needs and opportunities, identifying Information Technology (IT) innovative solutions.
    • Supervise the work of other developers and provide technical assistance to fellow developers and IT team members.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in data engineering.
    • Strong back-end and front-end development skills.
    • Strong SQL skills, especially on MSSQL.
    • Experience with Teradata, PowerBI, Hive, Ab Initio (a bonus), and Data APIs.
    • Ability to build data warehouse components on Teradata warehouse (3NF) and present data on dashboards and visualizations on PowerBI.
    • Compliance with data governance, including documenting data definitions and business glossaries, and getting data models approved before use.
    • Experience with workflow tools like TIBCO AMX/Camunda an advantage.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum Bm, B.Eng, BSC Eng, BSC Informatics or related degree.
    • 8+ years experience in data engineering.
    • Familiarity with one or more programming languages as appropriate for the specific requirements of the department related to the field.
    • System Design experience advantageous.
