Cybersecurity Role Overview

The Cybersecurity and Productivity Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security of Frey's Food Brands' IT systems, data, and employees. This role requires a deep understanding of various security technologies and protocols to analyze and respond to security threats.

This position reports to the Group IT Architect and Support Manager and is based in the company's Cato Ridge offices. The successful candidate will liaise with all levels of employees at Frey's Food Brands.

Main Responsibilities

• Incident investigation and threat hunting using event log monitoring or tools like Darktrace, Log360, or similar
• Providing input on recommended and mandatory security measures to safeguard against phishing emails, malware analysis, network attacks, and network traffic analysis
• Aiding in developing company-wide best practices for IT security
• Endpoint protection administration, including Sophos, Fortigate, and other security solutions
• Contributing to the development and implementation of a company-wide InfoSec program for user education
• Maintaining the company's cybersecurity posture through continuous updates and awareness
• Implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity strategies, policies, and protocols across cloud, on-prem, and SAAS environments
• Responsibility for MS productivity suite management, including SharePoint, Power Apps, and other features within Office 365

Secondary Responsibilities

• Ensuring timely and accurate resolution of user tickets, updating records as necessary
• Providing supportive and instructive user support to enable efficient work processes
• Reporting any issues that exceed individual scope or have not been previously communicated to management
• Executing assigned projects and collaborating with the team as required
• Daily server and network support in conjunction with the Systems Engineer

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• At least 35 years of work experience
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with relevant industry certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP)
• Significant experience in IT Security, including incident investigation and threat hunting using various tools and techniques
• Familiarity with IT security controls (Network IPS, Vulnerability Scanning, Endpoint Protection, Firewalls, etc.)
• Knowledge of email security, including Mimecast and Microsoft Defender
