Introduction
The Payroll Manager is responsible for the Remuneration and Benefits function and other related operational activities of the payroll function.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Check accuracy of input from payroll administrators including new engagements, terminations and general input into the SAGE 300 payroll system
- Check calculations of earnings, deductions and fringe benefits done by administrators
- Final validation check of Time & Attendance imports monthly and weekly
- Liaison with Management and staff regarding all pay enquiries.
- Sign off Monthly Variance reports
- Able to process Salary, Wages and Bi-Weekly Payrolls from start to finish
- Update Weekly/Bi-Weekly payrolls with MIBFA/ Lesotho annual increases
- Download Salary Increase schedules for Executive Management, prepare salary increase schedule to capture onto payroll system
- Creation of dummy payslips for prospective and existing employees when the need arises
- Complete and submit Metal Industries /Reunert Fund Pension and Provident Claims and conduct necessary follow ups
- Handle all disability correspondence with affected employees and process death claims
- Complete government statistics and company statistics
- Provide advice to employees in respect of all benefits which includes Company Policies, BCEA, Main Agreement etc.
- Calculation of retirement gratuities and long service awards
- Application of Tax Directives
- Prepare Payroll Budget by downloading various costing reports from the payroll system and submit to Financial Manager/Director for approval.
- Responsible for adding and or making changes to existing Master Payroll Files
- Prepare and submit Payroll Journals and ensure that payroll costs are timeously and correctly posted to the General Ledger
- Assisting Internal and External Auditors during Company financial year end
- Submit EMP501 reconciliation to SARS and Annual P16's to Lesotho Revenue Authority
- Generate IRP5's/P16's for distribution to current and terminated employee
- Prepare and submit Annual COID Returns to Rand Mutual Assurance and Compensation Fund.
- Assist HR with compiling Employment Equity Reports (EEA1+EEA2) for submission to DOL.
- Scheduling of Payroll System updates with support
- Weekly and monthly backing up of Payroll System
- Check and change payroll parameters to ensure correct leave pay, bonus, number of shifts are calculated correctly and the number of weekly deductions are covered for the different leave cycles
- Add new Payroll earnings, deductions as and when required
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National Diploma or Degree in Finance
- Sage 300 Experience
- Advanced Excel
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in a management rol
- Experience with Time and Attendance Systems
- Jarrison Time.
