- Is fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English, and can teach all subjects* in Intermediate/Senior phase up to grade 9 level.
- Understands and can effectively use formative assessment and will keep up to date with marking and corrective feedback.
- Will set high but attainable standards, goals, and expectations for themselves and for the children.
- Has effective classroom management and discipline skills.
- Is able and willing to be trained in evidence-based instruction and to implement such training in their classroom teaching practice.
