Summary of the position


The Specialist - Security Valuations will be responsible for supporting the Security Valuations Manager to ensure the input, update and verification of all daily prices into the current investment systems accurately and on time.

Outline of main duties and responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:


  • Risk Management:
  • Improve controls for these processes where remediation is not possible;
  • Review existing process documentation, identify those processes that are undocumented, identify those processes that require updates, assist in the completion of these;
  • Maintain a register of the Team's open risk and incident action items and facilitate the implementation of these. Escalate open actions approaching due date.
  • Product Management:
  • Support Senior OTC Derivative Specialist and the Security Valuations Team by determining the most appropriate treatment for any nonstandard instruments on both NXM and InvestOne;
  • Act as liaison for the Security Valuations Team with regards to UAT testing requirements and, where possible, perform the actual UAT testing;
  • Assist the Valuations Management Team by investigating relevant market initiatives and the impact these may have on current processes.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Act as liaison for the Security Valuations Team with regards to New Business and Due Diligence data requirements;
  • Act as liaison for the Security Valuations Team with regards to complex Client queries, particularly those that may encompass more that one of the teams within Valuations (i.e., SSD and Security Valuations);
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external and internal clients;
  • Stand in as a backup for colleagues.
Skills and experience required

  • A related degree or diploma;
  • Good understanding of Financial Markets;
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have Asset Management or Investment Administration experience;
  • Knowledge of InvestOne, NX Manager and Xceptor will be advantageous;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to contribute to the overall team deliverables;
  • Good communication skills.
  • Innovator and selfstarter with high energy and drive;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
Reporting structure

The Specialist Security Valuations will report to the Manager - Security Valuations.
