    Description
    Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity and security of large, complex databases and processes within our internal IT departments or client-facing service teams.

    Serving as a senior technical expert, they will design, implement and administer Oracle database management systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to establish user needs, monitor access and security.

    Key responsibilities include installing, administering and maintaining database servers, controlling access permissions, administering complex databases, and ensuring optimal performance and recoverability in the event of a disaster.


    Key Responsibilities

    Financial

    • Provide input into Presales and Sales processes
    • Accurate timekeeping

    Client

    • Respond to customer requests
    • Work with technical contacts from other teams or external partners on integration projects
    • Business consulting in database environments and architecting solutions to meet customer requirements

    Business Process

    • Perform database administration, maintenance, performance tuning, security and troubleshooting
    • Provide daily health check reports
    • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies and procedures
    • Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades and migrations
    • Provide proactive performance monitoring and capacity planning for future database and server growth
    • Develop and maintain best practices database documentation
    • Administer and maintain database and user security policies and standards

    Requirements

    Qualification/Professional Certifications

    • MATRIC, DIPLOMA, BACHELOR'S DEGREE in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
    • Oracle database certification and knowledge of Unix, storage subsystems advantageous

    Experience and Core Skills

    • 6+ years of experience as a senior database administrator
    • Experience with Cloud Hyperscalers (Oracle OCI, AWS & Azure)
    • Core Database Administration: administration, maintenance, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, high availability
    • Experience with Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Real Application Cluster
    • Unix and PL/SQL scripting knowledge advantageous

    Salary:

    $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
