    Job Title: Applications Engineer

    We are seeking a professional to join our team as an Applications Engineer in South Africa. The primary responsibility of this role is to train underground mining personnel on the correct usage of Kennametal mining products.

    The successful candidate will also be responsible for reporting back and recommending continuous improvement projects, testing new and existing products underground, and enhancing growth in the mining sector.

    Preferred Location:
    Mpumalanga province or Johannesburg area (office located in Boksburg)

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Train underground personnel on the proper use of tools while promoting and testing Kennametal products.
    • Provide daily feedback to customers and Kennametal personnel on current conditions of underground mining.
    • Monitor and report back on tests conducted.
    • Document performance and production of consumables used underground.

    Requirements:
    • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in underground mining.
    • Knowledge and experience in mining machinery and equipment.
    • Practical knowledge in the application and use of cutting systems, roof-support systems, and relevant replacement parts and consumables.
    • Ability to identify and analyze significant problems and opportunities.
