Procurement Manager Manufacturing

Johannesburg North, Johannesburg - Gauteng - South Africa

Reporting to the Factory Manager you will be responsible for leading the procurement function and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services necessary for the operation of the business.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
Minimum of 57 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on the manufacturing sector
Strong negotiation and problemsolving skills
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Strategic thinker with a track record of success in procurement
Proven working experience in a procurement position
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in "reading" the market
Talent in negotiations and networking
Good knowledge of supplier or thirdparty management software
Aptitude in working with numbers
Experience in collecting and analysing data
Strong leadership capabilities

Key Result Areas:

Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to ensure the timely and costeffective acquisition of materials and services
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions
Monitor supplier performance and take appropriate action to address any issues or concerns
Develop and maintain accurate and uptodate records of all procurement activities
Stay informed of industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
