    We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Systems Design Specialist to join our dynamic team based in Johannesburg.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical control systems and instrumentation for industrial, commercial, and renewable energy applications.

    • Design and implement electrical control systems and instrumentation solutions using CAD software.
    • Select, configure, and program PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other control devices.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control systems into larger projects.
    • Specify and source appropriate instrumentation and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
    • Design and manage systems involving generators, battery energy storage solutions, and PV installations.
    • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and testing protocols.
    • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in electrical controls and renewable energy systems.

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
    • 3+ years of experience in electrical control system design and instrumentation.
    • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
    • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA integration.
    • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
    • Familiarity with international standards and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC).
    • Good understanding of generators, battery energy storage solutions, PV systems (Micro Grids), electrical distribution MV and LV, and electrical metering.
    • Background in power plant control systems or PLC automation.
    • Technologically advanced with the ability to adapt to new innovations in the field.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

    Roodepoort mainly and sometimes in Rosebank office, Johannesburg.
