    Ammonia Mechanical/Refrigeration Technician

    About the Role

    We are seeking a skilled Ammonia Mechanical/Refrigeration Technician to join our team at our plant in Stikland. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our engineering systems.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Maintenance and Repair: Perform welding, repairs, and general workmanship with power tools to maintain conveyor systems and ensure they operate efficiently.
    • Equipment Installation: Conduct maintenance repairs, fabrication, and installation of assigned equipment, including related equipment for the safe operation of engineering systems.
    • Communication and Record Keeping: Communicate with supervisors regarding maintenance activities and equipment restart status, and maintain accurate job cards for completed tasks.
    • Safety Protocols: Ensure adherence to safety protocols for both yourself and your co-workers, and report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the supervisor/manager.
    • Teamwork and Flexibility: Coordinate and collaborate effectively within a team environment, and be willing to work overtime, including late nights, weekends, and shifts, when required.

    Requirements

    • Minimum Qualifications: 2 years working experience in general workshop duties, Red seal qualifications, and Refrigeration and electrical knowledge.
    • Key Skills: Mechanical and general all-rounder skills, ability to demonstrate organizational skills and follow policies, procedures, and work practices, independent thinking and job planning capabilities, ability to work well in a team, flexibility to work in different structures and environments, ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks, eagerness to learn and grow in multiple trade fields, ability to work well under pressure.

    Working Environment

    • This role is based in a production plant/factory, with the workshop being crucial to keeping operations running at full capacity.
