A vacancy has arisen in our Johannesburg region for a Pest Control Officer to join our expanding team.


Key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Pest Identification: Identify various types of pests such as insects, rodents, birds, and other wildlife that may pose a threat to properties in Johannesburg.
  • Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of properties to assess the extent of pest infestation, identify potential entry points, and determine the appropriate treatment plan.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop effective pest management strategies and treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each property and the type of pest infestation present.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with clients, understanding their pest concerns, explaining treatment plans, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of pest control activities, including inspection findings, treatment plans, chemical usage, and customer interactions. Prepare reports as necessary.
  • Education and Awareness: Educate clients on preventive measures to minimize future pest infestations, such as sanitation practices, structural modifications, and landscaping recommendations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest pest control techniques, industry trends, and advancements in pest management through training programs, seminars, and professional development opportunities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of pest control equipment, tools, and vehicles. Report any equipment issues or malfunctions promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other pest control officers, technicians, and team members to share knowledge, assist in complex cases, and ensure effective pest control services are provided.
  • Health and Safety: Follow proper safety protocols to protect oneself and others from potential hazards associated with pest control activities. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Knowledge of common pests found in Johannesburg and their behavior.
  • Familiarity with pest control products, equipment, and treatment methods.
  • Strong problemsolving and criticalthinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different locations.
  • Certification or licensing in pest control is preferred (e.g., Pest Control Operator's License).

Experience:

Pest Control: 5 years (preferred)
