    Job Summary:

    This role involves the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and enforce safety standards across all operations in accordance with local and international regulations.
    • Conduct Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize accidents and injuries.
    • Promote Safety Culture: Promote a culture of safety awareness through continuous education and training sessions, ensuring everyone is knowledgeable about safety practices and emergency procedures.
    • Lead Investigations: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards set by governing bodies, including the Mine Health Safety Act.
    • Monitor Safety Performance: Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and trends, using data to improve safety programs and policies continuously.

    Requirements:

    • Education: National Diploma in Safety Management or related qualification.
    • Experience: At least 20 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry.
    • Registration: Professional Registration will be preferred.
    • Skills: Good communication skill, attention to detail, good organizational skills, interpersonal skills, ability to perform under pressure, confidentiality, and deadline orientated.
