Our client is looking for a experienced Depot Manager to join and manage a dynamic team.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure compliance with standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing and dispatching stock
  • Manage the warehouse and distribution team to optimise the trucking and warehousing costs, working in
- alignment with Linbro and Printers Way Distribution Centres and various outsourced Primary Transport Service Providers including the outsourced partner CONCARGO Pty Ltd.

  • Deliver against the Operational Budget for the Warehousing and Distribution areas.
  • Manage warehousing and distribution department costs against budget, initiating corrective action as necessary
  • Assist in assessing warehousing and distribution needs and performance
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, orientation, training and development of warehouse staff
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual performance scorecards
  • Maintain and enhance professional and technical knowledge
  • To ensure that personal behavior reflects the values
  • Prepare relevant correspondence, reports and manuals covering operations, maintenance, safety and security
  • Coordinate warehousing and distribution activities through liaison with procurement, inventory planning, production, and sales
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of receiving documentation and adherence to receiving procedures
  • Minimize time and cost associated with container unloading
  • Ensure that goods are safely and securely stored, including management of stock health / rotation, allergen management,
  • Ensure adherence to safe materials handling practices
  • Constantly monitor stock health and ensure adherence to stock rotation policies
  • Assess requirement for additional temporary storage, whether containers or third party warehouses. Assist in planning, rate and service negotiation
  • Optimize fleet composition, utilization and routing to best meet agreed service levels and customer requirements at lowest total cost
  • Analyze routes and customers serviced and report on the viability of such service
  • Minimize failed and/or rejected orders by ensuring adherence to delivery time and remaining shelf life requirements
  • Track and analyze reverse logistics requirements at lowest possible cost
  • Estimate peak delivery periods from available information
  • Ensure that service levels are maintained during peak periods and / or in the event of vehicle or equipmen failure
  • Assist in managing replenishment of product at third party distribution providers
  • Assist in planning, rate and service negotiation, and scheduling with third party transporters, including accurate estimation of transport requirements and load / cost optimization
  • Maintain the physical condition of warehouses, vehicle fleets and equipment through planned testing, maintenance, repair and replacement

  • Attention to detail essential which will include accuracy and speed in execution.

Qualifications:


  • Relevant Degree/Diploma would be advantageous
years' management experience working within a FMCG or wholesale and retail environment

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in an FMCG or wholesale and retail environment
  • People leadership and management including planning, organizing, control, staffing
  • Numerical/ statistical analysis skills
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes
  • Excel: Intermediate to advanced skills
