A renowned establishment and wine estate in Stellenbosch is looking for an experienced Barista to prepare and serve hot/cold beverages, and to ensure great customer satisfaction.

The main responsibility of this role is to delight our guests with expert coffee knowledge and to produce a range of coffee beverages.

Experience working with a luxury wine estate will be beneficial.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Greet guests.
  • Give guests drinking menus and answer their questions regarding the ingredients.
  • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios).
  • Prepare beverages following recipes.
  • Keep the bar area clean.
  • Maintain stock of clean crockery.
  • Check brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Ensure that your uniform is clean and in a good state of repair.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:


  • Grade 1
  • Preferably 23 years previous Barista experience.
  • Passionate about the hospitality industry.
  • Handson experience with brewing equipment.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to gauge customers' preferences.
  • Strong customer service orientation and active listener.
  • Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele.
  • Must be wellpresented.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Accountability.
