- Develop and implement frameworks to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 principles and SARB regulations.
- Oversee risk data aggregation and reporting to enhance accuracy and timeliness in regulatory submissions.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Manage enterprise-wide data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage processes.
- Define and monitor data quality standards and performance metrics.
- Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, nurturing skills and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and risk managers to align data initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Drive the adoption of modern data management tools and methodologies.
- Innovate in data reporting and analytics to support organizational strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., CDMP, DAMA) are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in data management, data governance, or regulatory compliance within financial services.
- Proven track record in implementing BCBS 239 frameworks, preferably in South African financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of SARB regulatory requirements and local banking standards.
- Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
- Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Solid understanding of database systems, data integration, and data warehousing technologies.
