Main purpose of Job:

The overall management of the Machine Shop and its resources is critical to ensuring that production plans are met in support of the company's business objectives, which are driven by sales order bookings.

Required Professional Experience:

At least 10 years of experience in production management, accompanied by relevant qualifications, is essential for this role.

Techincal Product Knowledge

Customer Relationship and Leadership Skills

Required Education:

MATRIC / Relevant Trade / Operations Management / Industrial Engineering

Experience: 10 Years+

Post School Qualifications:

A trade certificate in Turning & Milling is highly advantageous, as well as a good understanding of QMS systems (Rex/IRIS/ISO) and CNC programming knowledge, particularly with Siemens, Fanuc Controls, or Akuma.

SAP Production Planning modules and industrial engineering skills are also required. Additionally, reading, interpreting, and understanding drawings is crucial.

Primary Responsibilities (Key Performance Areas) and Job Role Description:

Plan and organize the production schedule and plan to ensure optimal machine utilization.
Oversee the production process.
Determine quality control standards.
Liaise with buyers and sales staff.
Assess project and resource requirements.
Estimate and negotiate time scales with internal clients and managers.
Rename time scales or schedules as necessary.
Organize the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
Supervise junior staff members.
Mentor apprentices and interns.
Control budgets and costs related to tooling and machine maintenance.
Meet production and scrap rate targets.
Educate staff on 5S principles and ensure all staff members are trained and up-to-date with Fleximatrix.
Ensure monthly sales targets are met through production schedules.
