The Department of Public Health is part of the Faculty of Health

Sciences

The department aims to develop leadership in Public Health and is committed to the capacitation of senior and emerging managers in the health sector.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • PhD degree in Public Health.
  • Or, Master degree in Public Health with advanced progress towards a PhD.

Added advantages.

  • Evidence of peer reviewed research publication/s.
  • Teaching experience in the MPH programme.
  • Post graduate research supervision

DUTIES:


  • Teaching and learning such as preparing and delivering lectures and seminars, initiate and develop study guides and teaching material, manage the teaching and assessment plans of modules, and consult with students and curriculum development.
  • Post-Graduate supervision of students in the various programs in the department as well as across the faculty.
  • Research in an area of expertise and generating credible and accredited research outputs.
  • Daytoday administrative duties related to the Department of Public Health and academic programs as well as Faculty governance.

COMPETENCIES:


  • Computer competency in the Microsoft bouquet
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal relations and a clientservice orientation.
  • A high level of professional and ethical conduct
