    3-5 years experience in Clinical Risk management
    Demonstrable experience in managing an organisations clinical risk function
    Extensive IPC and nursing knowledge is a non-negotiable
    Develops and implements programs, policies, and practices to identify and manage clinical risks. Ensure the organisation is adequately protected from a clinical risk perspective.
    To monitor, coordinate, monitor and administer risk activities across assigned CHG facilities.
    The incumbent is responsible for identifying, assessing and recommending actions for actual and potential exposures to the Group with the aim of improving patient safety
    Clinical Risk Management and Reporting
    Implement, monitor and control clinical risk processes according to quality and risk standards
    Ensure all work completed is per policy, compliance, and governance requirements
    Collaborate with SHERQ and IPC officers at hospitals to ensure the consistent application of risk reporting systems
    Work within established support systems and processes for incident management, communication, and escalation of serious incidents
    Ensure the collection, safe storing and archiving of all relevant documentation pertaining to risk and adverse incidents
    Take responsibility for the below outlined duties applicable to the management of incidents
    Coordinating the investigation of potential risks across the Group
    Reviewing patient records and all other relevant information generated through incident reporting
    Collaborate with Group Risk Manager in identifying negative trends from incidents and make necessary recommendations for improving risk management processes and patient safety;

    In collaboration with the Group Risk Manager, develop systems to provide support to SHERQ and IPC officers across the Group.

    Provide training on relevant policies and procedures, documentation of hospital incident plans and adverse incident reporting
    Compile detailed risk reports and inform relevant committees and legal bodies of incidents
    Systemically recommend remediation steps for identified clinical risks
    Ensure accountable hospital personnel action recommended remedial actions as presented in the risk report
    Function as a Clinical Risk subject matter expert
    Provide consistent, high-quality advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
    Ensure compliance to relevant laws and regulations pertaining to clinical risk management in nursing and hospitals
    Ensure hospitals maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information and interactions to protect the hospital and the Group from liability or malpractice
    Provide advice (and where necessary draft relevant documentation) regarding CHG Standards, Policies and SOPs
    Identify innovative ways to improve business practices, processes and synergies to increase

    Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration
    Manage relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) to enable optimisation of the business value chain
    Manage interfaces beyond CHG with relevant bodies and structures regulating or driving best practice for Nursing Services
    Communicate with customers, service providers and professional organisations to keep abreast of industry or business trends
    Perform regular site visits to build and maintain healthy relationships with the nursing fraternity, SHERQ and IPC officers
    Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to meet delivery outcomes, enable collaboration and knowledge sharing across the business
    Manage stakeholder relationships and quality of service delivery to ensure successful overall business results
    Balance interests of a variety of stakeholders, readjusting priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands
    Manage self and show up as a team player
    Drive and demonstrate visible leadership in respect of company values, operating model and strategy
    Participate in activities that improve and strengthen competency in the Groups clinical risk management system and its elements through identification of effective teaching and information communication platforms
    Ensure conflict resolution and respond to any complaints or concerns
    Support skills development and transfer initiatives
    Participate in creating toolkits and training materials that will support building a steady skills pipeline
    Identify and participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development
    Ensure knowledge transfer amongst peers
    Monitor Costs and expenses
    Comply with cost controls in order to achieve section budget
    Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and to streamline processes
    Escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs or financial losses
    Establish reporting best practice for area of responsibility
    Research, collate and present Clinical Risk from hospitals as required
    Ensure complete, timeous and accurate reporting with appropriate levels of escalation to enable effective decision making
