Key Responsibilities:

Machine Fitting and Turning:
Perform precision fitting and turning operations to manufacture, assemble, and finish machine parts and components.

Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct regular maintenance, servicing, and repairs of machinery and mechanical equipment. Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.

Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all parts and machinery meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and tests on machined parts for precision and accuracy.

Machine Set-Up and Calibration:
Set up machines and equipment for operation, ensuring calibration and alignment. Adjust machine settings for optimal performance.

Technical Support:
Provide technical support to the operations team, assisting with machine setup, troubleshooting, and optimization. Collaborate with other technical staff to improve machine efficiency and resolve operational issues.

Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents in a timely manner.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and machine adjustments. Document and report on parts used and work performed.

Continuous Improvement:
Continuously seek ways to improve processes, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency. Stay updated with the latest industry practices and technological advancements.

Qualifications:

Certificate or diploma in mechanical engineering, fitting and turning, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Fitter/Turner, preferably in the PET blow moulding industry or similar.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills.
Proficiency in using various machine tools and measuring instruments.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Salary:
R10, R15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:
