- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the finance department
- Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
- Maintains the general ledger
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
- Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
- Assessing, capturing of information onto the relevant accounting programmes
- Reporting, feedback, record keeping of reports and administrative support
- Implementation & maintaining of relevant audit programs & verifications
- Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company's financial health
- Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform various audits
- Files required tax forms with relevant authorities
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, Pastel & Sage Accounting
- Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
- Experience in the fields of accounting or finance & audit
- Computer – Reports – Admin intensive
- BCom or equivalent qualification
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles will be beneficial
- 5-7 years relevant experience in finance and related services
- Experience in agriculture related industries will be beneficial
