    Description

    Electrical Systems Engineer Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer for a permanent position in our SA Projects department.

    This role will involve electrical system modelling, protection design, testing, and commissioning, as well as bill of quantities and Auto CAD drawings for various projects.

    • You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are executed in line with South African national standards and other customer requirements.
    • You will compile Site Acceptance Test plans, commissioning plans, and assist technical teams with their execution.
    • You will contribute to the development of our company's strategic planning, customer base, and project services.
    • You will oversee budgeting, resource management, planning, scope definition, implementation, and coordination of projects.
    • You will report directly to the Senior Electrical System Engineer.

    Key Responsibilities

    As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will:

    • Execute engineering, planning, leading, organizing, and controlling electrical system modelling, load flows, fault studies, grading studies, and designs for various projects.
    • Apply standardization and good engineering practices to ensure high-quality studies, SAT execution, and commissioning.
    • Design, specify, project manage, and supervise small to medium-sized projects.
    • Oversee the whole project life cycle, including design, procurement, budgeting, supervision, testing, and commissioning.
    • Specify, design, program, and commission electrical equipment, including metering, protection, and reticulation equipment.
    • Develop bills of materials/quantities for engineering services and support tendering processes.
    • Coordinate individual project resources plans and support the endeavours of engineering and installation services teams.
    • Solve technical problems, find faults, and perform standby duties.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • B Eng Electrical Heavy Current degree
    • 3-6 years of experience in large/heavy industry environments
    • Good exposure to industrial environments and associated electrical reticulation, protection, and machinery
    • A high level of technical competence and understanding of relevant equipment
    • Driver's license
    • Passport (willing to travel regionally and abroad)
    • Traceable references and a clear criminal record

    Package and Remuneration

    The package includes market-related basic salary, medical aid, pension, and retention allowance.
