Minimum Requirements:

Matric with a suitable qualification i.e Operations/Production Management.
***:
-
5-10 years' working experience in production management.
***:
-
Production and deboning knowledge of meat essential.
***:
-
Must have meat processing industry experience as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes and HACCP standards.
***:
-
Experience using an ERP system i.e., Meat matrix would be advantageous.
***:
-
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a large team within a unionized environment.
***:
-
High level of efficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel and in report writing.
***:
-
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
***:
-
Ability to converse in IsiZulu with be an advantage.
***:
-
Hands on individual who is initiative-taking and willing to go the extra mile.
***:
-
Excellent organizational and planning skills with good attention to detail.
***:
-
Ability to multi-task and work in a highly pressurized environment.
***:
-
Able to work on weekends when required.
***
Responsibilities:******:
-
Ensure that the holding stock is correct and weekly stock counts are accurate and efficient.
***:
-
Maintain accurate production inputs and outputs and reconcile all differences.
***:
-
Conduct ongoing evaluation of current procedures and controls and provide recommendations to management for improvements.
***:
-
Ensure that there are no short-dated or expired stock in the deboning and manufacturing departments.
***:
-
Ensure that all standard operating procedures are adhered to.
***:
-
Supervise the dispatching of orders.
***:
-
Supervise the receiving of stock and ensure that the quality of meat received is as per the standard requirement.
***:
-
Manage staff performance and related industrial relations matters.
***:
-
Training of employees on how to handle and cut meat, identify different cuts of meat, identify good or bad quality meat, checking the temperature of meat and how to break up meat
***:
-
carcasses.

Compile accurate yield reports and costing of products.
***:
- ** Ensure hygiene is maintained as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act
