    Sales Representative

    To effectively promote and sell the company's products and services to potential clients, ensuring the highest standards of customer service are maintained to achieve departmental targets.

    Key Responsibilities and Performance Metrics:

    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to meet departmental goals and objectives.
    • Increase revenue through effective client management, lead generation, prospect qualification, and product/service sales.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to maintain a competitive edge within the market.
    • Forecast sales, develop sales strategies, and evaluate their effectiveness.
    • Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs and preferences.
    • Provide regular sales reports and insights to stakeholders.
    • Maintain and grow the client base in designated areas.
    • Attend meetings, events, and training sessions to stay updated on industry developments.
    • Pursue new customer accounts based on their potential as future clients.
    • Monitor monthly sales per customer using sales management processes.
    • Analyze sales data from the ERP system to assess actual performance against targets and implement corrective actions if necessary.
    • Collaborate with the Regional Manager to provide monthly feedback on all activities related to customers.
    • Develop and implement marketing and promotion strategies to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
    • Organize trade events and social activities to foster strong customer relationships and promote products.
    • Liaise with customers and the Regional Manager to initiate and monitor promotional activities that drive business growth and market share expansion.
    • Assist with credit applications and support debt collection efforts.
    • Work closely with Debtors to ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding debts.
    • Support Debtors in resolving customer queries and concerns.
    • Proactively manage high-risk customers and collaborate with Debtors to develop action plans.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding vehicle and equipment maintenance.
    • Participate in monthly meetings with the Regional Manager to discuss new business developments and progress.

    Stock Management:

    • Collaborate with Warehouse teams to optimize stock availability and resolve any queries or issues.
    • Assist with consignment stock processes when required.
    • Analyze buying patterns to inform forecasting and stock replenishment decisions.
    • Monitor stock rotations and replenish new stock as needed.
    • Manage claims stock and ensure accurate record-keeping.
    • Help customers manage their stock levels and mix.

    Compliance:

    • Adhere to established controls and procedures.
    • Raise risks or concerns to management within your operating area.
    • Promote compliance with relevant regulations and procedures to prevent unnecessary expenditure.

    Customer Service:

    • Nurture effective working relationships with employees and customers to deliver exceptional service.
    • Resolve problems efficiently while demonstrating integrity consistent with company values.
    • Foster open communication with CIC and stakeholders to address customer queries and concerns.
    • Provide regular product updates and training to customers.
    • Support customer liaison teams in maintaining customer databases and updating information as needed.
    • Offer training and guidance on claims, rotation procedures, and other essential topics.
    • Update customer databases with new information or updates.

    Cost Control:

    • Support transparent and efficient use of financial resources.
    • Verify correct pricing structures are in place at all times.
    • Monitor daily gross profit margins and implement corrective actions if necessary.
    • Optimize company resources (e.g., cell phone, car) to reduce operational costs.
    • Limit expenditures, reduce costs, and report deviations from budgetary limits to direct management.

    Qualifications:

    • Certificate in Sales or relevant fields (NQF 5).

    Experience:

    • Up to 3 years as a Sales Representative or similar role within the Retail environment.

    Essential Knowledge and Required Skills:

    • Basic computer literacy (MS Office; SAP, ERP Systems, and other job-specific software systems).
    • Knowledge of sales principles, practices, and procedures.
    • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
