    Risk Consultant Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Consultant to join our team in the Western Cape branch.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Broker Consultant or Life Insurance Agent/Financial Advisor.
    2. Lifetime insurance experience is essential.
    3. Brief-term insurance experience is an advantage.
    4. A suitable tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, investments preferably).
    5. Have a qualification recognised by the FSCA for FAIS purposes.
    6. Preference will be given to candidates with a CFP certification.
    7. RE5 certification is required.
    8. Have completed relevant class of business and product-specific training.
    9. Ability to function at a strategic level while fulfilling operational responsibilities.
    10. Meet the FAIS honesty, integrity, and good standing requirements.
    11. Meet the FAIS minimum experience requirements for long-term insurance products.
    12. Must not have been declared insolvent or provisionally insolvent.
    13. Comply with FAIS requirements for continuous professional development.
    14. Completed supervision for long-term insurance categories.
    15. Fully computer literate, xPlan experience advantageous.
    16. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
    17. Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
    18. Client-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and able to take the initiative (self-starter).
    19. To provide and implement advice on insurance needs and solutions to clients in conjunction with the company Partner.
    20. Analyse and identify Lifetime and Brief-term Insurance opportunities within the client bases of their panel of financial planning partner's practice.
    21. Prepare comprehensive advice documents (proposals, comparisons, and quotations) for presentation to clients.
    22. Provide specialist advice on Lifetime Insurance needs, including specialist areas such as Estate Planning and Business Assurance.
    23. Implement agreed solutions for clients and manage underwriting and other onboarding requirements.
    24. Review clients' cover according to internal business procedures, or if client circumstances change.
    25. Acquire brief-term insurance leads from the company's financial planning partners.
    26. On receipt of the client's consent, refer these clients to the Brief-term Insurance tele-advisor, book an appointment for the client with the tele-advisor, and forward any existing brief-term insurance schedules to the Brief-term Insurance tele-advisor for capture prior to the appointment.
    27. Communicate and receive confirmation from the Brief-term Insurance tele-advisor that the appointment has taken place and the outcome of the appointment.
    28. Maintain and develop client relationships.
    29. Support and contribute to company initiatives to communicate to, educate, and engage clients in order to better meet their needs.
    30. Monitor and report on the success and implementation of client and partner-focused initiatives.
    31. Adhere to the culture and principles of TCF – treating customers fairly.
    32. Comply with Group and Industry regulatory requirements.
