Position:
Workshop Assistant**
Location: Somerset West, Cape Town


Reporting to:
ECI Technician


Job Summary:

Assistance to all departments in terms of any aspect of duties to be performed with relation to the company premises, and general handyman tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• General maintenance of company facilities, equipment, and tools.
• Complete all activities related to logged tasks and project requests regarding the facility.
• Repair and planned facility maintenance work must be to the highest standard and specification for operational requirements.
• The correct utilisation of tools, machines, and equipment.
• Operate and perform all activities in a safe manner to yourself and coworkers.
• Ensure the premises is safe for employees, contractors, and clients to enter.
• Maintain a good housekeeping culture in your workarea, machines, and equipment.
• Assist with all ad hoc operational tasks, such as moving furniture, working with maintenance and all repairs.
• Oversee the Workshop Cleaner with ensuring effective cleaning methods are applied and cleaning schedule is maintained on company premises / sites.
• Organizing shelves, parts, tools, and equipment.
• Creating inventory lists and service requests.
• Manage tools and equipment, reporting any damaged or lost items to the ECI Technician for fixing or replacement.
• Report facility issues to the ECI Technician and assist with repairs where applicable.
• Company deliveries and collections using the company vehicles.
• Maintaining inspections and cleaning of company vehicles.
• Assisting engineers with general duties as requested.
• Stock taking of chemical store (full training to be provided)
• Cleaning laboratory tanks, equipment, containers, and glassware.
• Loading, packaging, and wrapping of equipment that arrives/departs the workshop.
• Placing refuse bins outside on scheduled days and returning the bins to their designated location upon completion of collection by the municipality.
• To eliminate dangerous and unlawful practices by reporting practices to the ECI Technician.
• All actions, corrective actions, and improvements noted must be communicated to the ECI Technician.
• Assist in cleaning facilities when necessary.
• Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

REQUIREMENTS

• Senior Certificate and/or equivalent related courses.

Years experience in a similar role.

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to commute to location (Somerset West)
• Reliable transport.
• Computer skills will be advantageous.

• English

• Full proficiency.
• Forklift license will be advantageous, but not compulsory.
• Attention to detail.
• Well organised, motivated, and willing to learn.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problemsolving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understand and follow instructions, including equipment use, and other policies and procedures.

SALARY:
R13 000 CTC depending on experience.
No calls and/or walk-ins will be entertained.

R12, R13,000.00 per month
