Description
The role encompasses, demographic data capture, and recording specimens.

The Receiving Officer will ensure the safe delivery of medical specimens to the respective perform site and will also assist with other general administrative functions and will form part of a larger team.


Output:


  • Collection and delivery administration
  • Register attendance by logging into the system.
  • Data capturing/logging of patient information.
  • Receive submitted specimens and deliver internally between departments and ensure specimens are delivered to the correct laboratory.
  • Receive and submit specimens to reference laboratories.
  • Responsible for the following tasks:
  • Patient registration;
  • Receipt of specimens;
  • Centrifugation of specimens;
  • Aliquoting of specimens;
  • Dispatch of specimens for processing;
  • Storage of samples;
  • Resolution of queries.
  • Scan specimen barcodes to support the specimen tracking process.
  • Tracking progress of sample delivered by the couriers to ensure that specimens are received by the designated laboratory.
  • Ensure that biohazardous waste is disposed of according to safety protocols.
  • Log customer complaints, investigate and document solutions on the information management system.
  • Resolve queries and escalate queries where unable to resolve.
