    VACANCY: MILLWRIGHT in VAALHARTS

    (Machinery Maintenance and Repair Specialist)


    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join our maintenance team, with a primary focus on conducting regular maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery, transmissions, electrical systems, welding, steel and sheet metal work, and providing services and light maintenance on engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, welding techniques, and various maintenance practices. The Millwright will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our equipment and machinery.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on a wide range of machinery, including inspections,
      lubrication, cleaning, and component replacements to ensure optimal performance and prevent
      breakdowns.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and
      equipment, utilizing a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
    • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as bearings, gears, belts,
      electrical circuits, and hydraulic systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime and
      maximizing equipment uptime.
    • Weld and fabricate metal components, perform steel and sheet metal work, and repair damaged
      parts as needed to maintain the structural integrity of machinery and equipment.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on transmissions, engines, and other powertrain
      components to extend their operational life and prevent unexpected failures.
    • Inspect and maintain electrical systems, identifying and addressing issues with wiring, sensors,
      motors, and control panels to ensure safe and efficient operation.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and
      equipment condition, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other
      documentation tools.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for
      yourself and colleagues.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and maintenance practices to
      continuously improve skills and contribute innovative ideas to the maintenance team.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • High school diploma AND technical training in millwright, mechanics, or a related field is
      preferred.
    • Proven experience as a Millwright with 5 years work experience
    • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and welding techniques.
    • Strong understanding of machinery blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision
      measuring instruments.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Flexibility to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Capable of lifting heavy objects, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust,
      and temperature variations.
