    Job Title: Internal Auditor

    A key role within FirstRand, the Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of our internal controls.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Orient yourself with the control environment being audited, encompassing IT, financial control, and risk management aspects.
    • Plan audit assignments based on identified process and business risks, designing a tailored approach in line with these factors.
    • Incorporate data analytics to enhance audit planning and streamline fieldwork.
    • Execute fieldwork in accordance with quality standards, assessing governance, risk management practices, and internal controls.
    • Present clear and comprehensive audit evidence supporting recommendations and opinions.
    • Maintain effective communication with the audit team, management, and stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance internal controls, including financial controls.
    • Diagnose issues and recommend changes to address weaknesses.
    • Produce high-quality, balanced audit reports encapsulating findings and results.

    Requirements:

    • CA(SA)/CIA or equivalent qualification.
    • At least 3 years' experience in internal or external auditing.
    • Data analytics experience advantageous.
    • Banking and financial services background beneficial.
    • Credit knowledge within banking an advantage.
