The Strategic Fuel Fund Association (SFF), a subsidiary of the Central Energy Fund (CEF), manages crude oil storage facilities in the Western Cape, and environmental protection against oil pollution.

SFF currently seeks to employ a MAINTENANCE MANAGER in Saldanha, Cape Town Western Cape.


Responsibilities

  • The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the daytoday management and direction of the maintenance team.
  • Budgetary control and project management capabilities
  • Maintenance of the plant infrastructure and equipment in the terminal Maintenance Department and will be appointed as a competent person under the OSHAT,
  • Ensuring rapid response to breakdowns
  • Develop improved work practices.
  • Ensure that plant machinery and equipment run smoothly and reliably.
  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Diagnosing Faults
  • Repairing equipment
  • Supervising fabrication and technical staff
  • Obtaining specialist components, fixtures, or fittings.
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Creating maintenance procedures
  • Managing stocks of supplies and equipment

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Eng. or Equivalent (e.g. B Tech Mechanical/Electrical)
  • Minimum 10 years' Engineering experience in Petrochemical or least 5 years exposure to the management of a technical team
  • Registration with Engineering Council as professional
  • Good knowledge of Oil and gas industry and by products
  • Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and procedures
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards
  • Good understanding of financial planning processes and principles
  • Labor Legislation
  • Knowledge on maintenance principles
  • Knowledge of Port Regulations
  • Valid EB driver's license
