    Description

    Job Title: Academic Leader - Communication Science

    Description:

    MANCOSA, a registered and accredited private Higher Education distance provider, is seeking an experienced Academic Leader to provide leadership across a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate education programmes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Module Coordinator for area of specialisation (SME)
    • Facilitate face-to-face and online lectures
    • Develop, review and moderate curriculum and assessments
    • Provide Academic consultation support
    • Grade assessments and provide stakeholder feedback
    • Undertake programme and module reviews
    • Active involvement in research and publishing
    • Identify students at-risk and execute pastoral care
    • Undertake programme and quality management administrative tasks

    Requirements:

    • 3-5 years academic experience
    • Demonstrate research engagement over the last 3 years
    • Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methodology knowledge and experience

    Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with higher, distance and online education
    • Familiarity with using learning management systems
    • Working knowledge of the South African Higher Education Regulatory Framework
    • Ability to work within pre-determined time frames and deadlines
    • Excellent communication and professionalism skills
    • Collegial team player
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Excellent writing and reporting skills
    • High level of ethics and confidentiality
